Application Admins and Resource Admins can create Resource Groups and Resource Types to help organize Resources by location or commonality to make locating and booking Resources easier.
Resource Groups can be used to bundle related Resources that are located near each other or may typically be reserved together. Once a Resource Group is applied, members with permission to book multiple Resources can reserve all the Resources in the group with a single click. For example, you may create a Resource Group for all the equipment located on floor 1 and another for floor 2 to find the closest available Resources during your booking time.
Resource Types act as a category for organizing resources of the same class or type. For example, if you have a variety of microscopes in the lab, you may want to create a Resource Type called Microscopes so that users can filter on the Resource Type to locate availability. Once enabled, the Resource Type can be selected and filtered on from the Schedule Booking Page.
The Schedule Bookings Page will display a filter for both the Resource Groups and Resource Types to help users locate related Resources. The My Calendar and Resource Calendar will display a Resource Groups link for the created Resource Groups to also aid in quickly locating the Resources.
